Jude K. Swank
May 19, 1956 - Feb. 17, 2011
Jude K. Swank, 54, passed away February 17, 2011 at Hospice Christus Santa Rosa in San Antonio, Texas, after a battle with cancer. She donated her body to science and continues to give even after death.
Jude was born May 19, 1956 in Lufkin, Texas and fought a lifelong battle with schizophrenia. She worked for 30 years in the History department of Texas A&M University. Jude's dad was in the Navy when she was born and she spent her earlier years moving with
her family from coast to coast, to include the island of Adak in the Alaska Aleutians. She attended Lufkin High School and graduated in May 1974. She attended Texas A&M and earned a bachelor's degree in Philosophy in 1981. She loved her work for the University
and was extremely sad to leave when she was no longer able to work.
She is survived by her mother, Marcia Swank; and her father, L.D. Swank, both of Huntington, Texas; and her sister, Beverly Teboe of Converse, Texas.
Our family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of those who stood by her during her time of need.
