Russell Lee Stogsdill, 72, of Fulshear, Texas, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011, in a car accident in Wharton, Texas. A memorial service is set for 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at the Agave Road, 1016 FM 1463, Katy, Texas 77494.
Russell is survived by his wife, Karen Stogsdill of Fulshear, Texas; daughters, Sherri Swope and her husband, Mark, of Katy, Texas, Angela Webster and her husband, Eric, of Meredith, N.H., Julie Darrow and her husband, Joe, of Boulder, Colo.; son, Kyle Crickmer
and his wife, Gina, of Katy, Texas; grandchildren, Taylor Swope, Kyle Swope, Tori Webster, Catherine Darrow and Riley Crickmer.

Russell Lee Stogsdill

Russell Lee Stogsdill, 72, of Fulshear, TX, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in a car accident in Wharton, TX.
He was born to Glenn and Marie Stogsdill, August 24, 1938, in Springfield, MO. Russell joined the United States Marine Corp[s] after graduating from high school. After completing his service, he graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, with
a degree in architecture. Russell taught as a professor in the TAMU College of Architecture before founding The Architects Inc., in Houston, TX in the early 1970’s. In 1982, he bought 25 acres in Fulshear, TX, and built his home there. He moved his company,
now Stogsdill Architects, Inc., to Brookshire, TX. He married Karen Carlson Crickmer on September 2, 2004 and together they created a home filled with many pets and an extensive family of friends.
Russell was an architect working primarily in Texas but he was also licensed in Louisiana, Alabama, South Carolina, and Florida. He was an active member of the American Institute of Architects. His recent projects included apartment complexes, but in the past
his designs included office buildings, nursing homes and hospitals.
Russell loved to spend time on his property in Fulshear, entertaining guests and cooking BBQ. He had many diverse interests including golf, pool, and photography. He liked to vacation in Mexico every chance he got.
Russell is survived by his wife, Karen Stogsdill of Fulshear, TX; his daughter Sherri Swope of Katy, TX and her husband Mark and their children Taylor and Kyle; his daughter Angela Webster of Meredith, NH and her husband Eric and their daughter Tori; his daughter
Julie Darrow of Boulder, CO and her husband Joe and their daughter Catherine; and his son Kyle Crickmer of Katy, TX and his wife Gina and their daughter Riley. Russell is also survived by two ex-wives, Wanda Minnick and Susan Boessling of Galveston, TX and
Fredericksburg, TX, respectively (Yes, all his exes live in Texas!).
