Dr. John H. Cochrane Jr. M.D.Dr. John H.
Cochrane, Jr. M.D. was born on Galveston Island March 1, 1926 and passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 13, 2011.

He played basketball at Ball High School and was Field Artillery Regimental Commander of the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M class of ’47.

Dr. Cochrane practiced family medicine for 43 years at Beeler-Manske Clinic in Texas City. He was a deacon for over 50 years at the First Baptist Church of La Marque. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood work, and working on his rose beds in the gardens. He was adored and admired by many colleagues, friends and patients in our community.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kate Cochrane, and brother’s Charles and “Danny”, as well as William “Dub” Allen who passed 4 days prior.

He is survived by his wife, Margie of 61 years; sons, John H. Cochrane III and his wife Ann Marie, David G. Cochrane; daughter, Crista Sereni; grandchildren, Katy, Dave Jr., Danny, Gina and Sophia; nieces Lisa, Jana and Adrianne Cochrane, and numerous friends that are considered “family”.

Dr. Cochrane willed his body to the U.T. “Willed Body Program” in an effort to give back to the profession he dedicated his life to and loved.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 23rd, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Texas City, Texas followed by a reception for friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Expanding Our Boundary’s Campaign at First Baptist Church of Texas City 1400 9th Ave. North, Texas City, TX 77590 (409) 945-2309.
