Obituary for Lisa Gassiott
Lisa Elaine Gassiott went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 8 in Dallas. She was born December 10, 1976, in Shreveport, LA. Lisa graduated from Round Rock High School in 1993. She received her BA in Education from Texas A&M University in
1999 and her Masters of Education from Texas A&M Commerce in 2008.
Lisa was passionate about children and teaching. She was employed by Mesquite ISD in the Special Services Center and taught elementary children with dyslexia. Lisa loved her students and enjoyed helping them learn.
Lisa was also passionate about serving and encouraging others and has served in various churches. Currently she was a member of Watermark Community Church in Dallas where she served as a community group leader and in the children’s department. In addition,
she served on various mission trips to Bulgaria where she ministered to children in orphanages and taught discipleship classes.
Lisa’s life was marked not only by the love of the Lord but her love of her family and friends. Lisa was a devoted daughter and loving sister. One of her greatest joys was her niece and nephew. Lisa was a loyal friend and a joy to others. She had a gift for
encouraging and comforting and others. Her smile and laughter will be forever remembered by her family and friends.
Lisa is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Powell and Sue Gassiott of Cleveland, TX, and her maternal grandparents, Grady and Mattie McFarland of Wills Point, TX. Lisa is survived by her parents Glenn and Joyce Gassiott of Canton, TX, her older
brother Grant Gassiott, his wife Angela and their two children Gracyn and Grady and her younger brother Gregg Gassiott and his wife Keisha. She is also survived by a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as many friends.
The family held a private interment on Tuesday, April 12. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2010, at 2pm at Highland Baptist Church located at 8202 Boedeker, Dallas, TX 75225. In lieu of flowers, financial gifts can to be sent to Highland
Baptist Church. Monies will be distributed to ministries that were dear to Lisa’s heart – Bulgaria Child Inc., Evangelical Baptist Church, Kazanlak, Bulgaria and the Hope Pregnancy Center in Canton.

CANTON - Memorial services for Lisa Elaine Gassiott, 34, Canton, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Highland Baptist Church, Dallas.
A private family burial was held Tuesday in Field Cemetery, Canton, under direction of Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home, Wills Point.
Ms. Gassiott died April 8, 2011.
She was born Dec. 10, 1976. She was employed by Mesquite Independent School District, and was a member of Watermark Community Church in Dallas.
Survivors include parents, Glenn and Joyce Gassiott, Canton; brothers, Grant and Angela Gassiott and Gregg and Keisha Gassiott; one niece and one nephew.
