Edward Driscoll
Dr. Edward A. Driscoll, 93, was received by his Savior on March 20, 2011. Born in New York City, October 4, 1917, he was preceded in death by his parents Edward M. and Adrienne, and his brother Albert. He is survived by Atha Lee, loving wife of 67 years, sons
Edward and wife Suzy, Stephen and wife Kathy, Phillip, and Paul; granddaughters Shannon and husband David Bickham, Jennifer and husband Charlie Nichols, Kerrie and husband Will Eubanks, Meredith and husband Justin Lowth, and Amanda Driscoll, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Also survived by 3 nephews, 1 niece, 2 sisters-in-law, and first cousin Pierre Delfausse, aged 94.
After graduating from Texas A&M in 1941 as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, he served in the China Burma India Theater until the end of WW II, attaining the rank of Major in the U.S. Army. He received his Salvation on May 4, 1952 during a Billy Graham revival
and for the rest of his life was a devoted Christian and a long time member of First Baptist Church, Pasadena. He opened his Pasadena veterinary practice in 1950, and practiced for 61 years. The Texas Veterinary Medical Association honored him last March as
the oldest practicing veterinarian in Texas, and the Pasadena Rotary Club made him a Paul Harris Fellow. He was one of the "Greatest" in the "Greatest Generation".
Visitation is Tuesday March 29, 2011 from 6PM to 8PM, and A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, March 30, 2011, both at First Baptist Church of Pasadena. Burial will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
