William McCauley Jr.
William "Bill" Murray McCauley, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at the age of 59.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Susan Wolf McCauley, his loving daughter Erin, his amazing sons, Adam and Max, and his mother Dorthy Oliver Gore. He is preceded in death by Walter J. Wolf and Ada Mae Becker Wolf; Marlene Friedman; Shirley Becker; and his father, William Murray McCauley, Sr.

He is also survived by his siblings Mary Thompson, husband Alan, their children Matt, Amy, Michael, and six grand-nieces and nephews; and Susan Lynn McCauley Kulhanek and husband Randy. He treasured his relationship with many close family members including Lisa, Greg, Walker, Sydney and Addison Spier; Sandi, Steven, Ashley, Cameron and Samantha Wolf; Allen J. Becker; Joyce and James Friedman; Brian, Jarod and Jeremy Becker; Gary, Susan, Morgan and Haley Becker; Sunni, Gary, Abbie, Brooke and Casey Markowitz; Leslie, Mark, Michael, Matthew and Benjamin Kaufman; Lauren, Jeff, Miller, Megan, Emma and Buddy Friedman; Emily Capp, Marcy Aguilar, Andy Friedman and David Egeland.

Bill graduated from Angleton High School in 1969 and Texas A&M University in 1973 with a B.A. in management from the College of Business Administration.

Immediately upon graduation, Bill joined Shell Oil Company and was employed with the company for over 38 years. His management positions included assignments in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Brazil.

Bill always considered his most important work to be that of a husband and father. His love for Susan was boundless, and he devoted all his love and care to her. He was also very involved in his children's lives. He coached baseball and football teams and cheered all three children at their games. On his days off, Bill enjoyed substitute teaching at Spring Branch ISD schools, where students and teachers alike welcomed him into the classroom. His booming voice, humor and play-by-play sports casting will always be remembered and missed.

Bill was a bigger-than-life man who will be remembered for his generosity, selfless acts of kindness, contagious laugh, warm smile and loving personality. Bill had the unique ability of making each friendship meaningful and special.

The McCauley Family wants to acknowledge all of the amazing family and friends whose countless hours of love and care will never be forgotten. Special thanks go to Alma and Anna.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Congregation Beth Israel [Thursday March 17], 5600 N. Braeswood Blvd., Houston, Texas 77096, where Rabbi David Lyon and Cantor Robert Gerber will officiate. Pallbearers at the service will be Dennis Baker, Allen Becker, Brian Becker, Gary Becker, Randy Braud, Steve Broussard, Mike Hughes, Andy Friedman, Jeff Friedman, Jim Friedman, John Jackson, Jay Kaplan, Mark Kaufman, Randy Kulhanek, Gary Markowitz, Arnie Miller, Len Sparks, Greg Spier, Alan Thompson, Terry Westbrook, and Steven Wolf.

Burial will take place immediately after the service at Congregation Beth Israel Memorial Gardens, 1111 Antoine, Houston, Texas 77055.
