Ray Graves
SOUTHLAKE — Ray Graves, 79, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011.
Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, First Baptist Church, 301 E Texas St, Grapevine.Interment will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Glenn Cemetery, Bluff Dale.
Ray was born on June 27, 1931, to William and Janie Belle Graves in Stephenville, Texas. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Dickinson, where he was and Deacon and taught Sunday school. Ray was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather,
brother and friend.
Ray played football for Texas A&M from 1950 - 1953 and was the quarterback from 1951 - 1953. He was an avid sportsman. After college Ray worked for American National Life Insurance Co from 1956 - 1996, he loved his work. Survivors include his wife of 60 years,
Martha Graves, Southlake; children, Becky Sewell and husband Don, Grapevine, Susan Ward and husband Tom, Aurora, Colorado, Linda Chapman and husband Jim, Southlake, Scott Graves, Dickinson, and Jane Marburger and husband Kyle, McAllen; grandchildren, Brent
Sewell and wife Lori Beth, Keith Sewell and wife Christy, Derek Ward, Tyler Ward, Cale Chapman, Kendall Chapman, Jacquelyn Graves, Greg Graves, Taylor Marburger and Sydney Marburger; great-grandchildren, Selah and Radley Sewell; brothers, twin, Kay Graves
and wife Margaret Ann, and Roger Graves and wife Carolyn; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Should friends desire, memorials may be given to First Baptist Church of Grapevine.
