Richard Beverly Rice
GALVESTON — Richard Beverly Rice, 54, of Galveston, Texas passed away Friday, July 15, 2005, at his residence. Richard was born on August 13, 1950, in Houston, Texas and was a resident of Galveston for 28 years. He was a marine surveyor and was a member of
Trinity Episcopal Church. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Beverly Rice.
Survivors include daughter, Margaret “Maggie” Rice of Galveston, Texas and son, Richard Alex Rice of Galveston, Texas, numerous other relatives and friends.
Richard graduated with a B.S. degree from Southwestern University and a B.S. degree from Texas A & M University in Galveston. After working several years for Lykes Steamship Co., Richard pursued a career as a marine surveyor.
Richard was an avid sailor, sailing in the Indian, Pacific, and Atlantic Oceans.
