Michael L.Bolk age 41 died Monday, November 29, 2010 in Amarillo, Texas.
Rosary will be held on Friday at 7:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday at 10:30 AM at ST. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Msgr. Joseph Tash. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Michael was born in Amarillo to Bill and Lydia Bolk on March 6, 1969. He graduated from AHS in 1987 and from Texas A&M in 1992. Michael then attended SMU where he earned Master’s Degree in 1994.
During his AHS years, Michael was an active member of student council, at A&M he was a member of Beta Theta Phi and served as a counselor at Fish Camp. A resident of Dallas from 1992 until 2002, he worked at EDS and Quest Cyber Solutions before returning to Amarillo where he became a State Farm Insurance Agent.
Michael was always interested in history and enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe and New Mexico. He was an avid reader, a collector of maps and loved gardening.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ben and Clara Bolk and Alberto and Adelina Sanchez.
Michael is survived by his parents, Bill and Lydia Bolk of Amarillo and two sisters Lori Tuggle of Cedar Creek, TX and her children Devin, Avery and Peyton and Erika Bolk of South Bend , Indiana.
