Tim Leach Update

Tim Leach and his wife, Amy, made the news in the spring as donors for the Petroleum Engineering Department’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. Dr. Gene Beck, associate professor in Petroleum Engineering, was the first recipient of the award, which was a $4,000 unrestricted cash award following his nomination and a majority vote of graduating seniors and faculty members in the Harold Vance Department of Engineering. The award was established with a $100,000 endowment at the Texas A&M Foundation. Tim and Amy were among the lead donors. Tim is chairman and chief executive officer of Midland-based Concho Resources Inc. and serves on the Texas A&M Engineering Advisory Council.
