The 12th Man Kickoff Team Foundation is honoring Coach Emory Bellard at its scholarship dinner on Friday, Nov. 19 at The Zone Club at Kyle Field.
Bellard was the head football coach at Texas A&M University from 1972 to 1978 and was recently diagnosed with ALS. (You can learn more about the disease at
The ALS Association's webpage.)
The
"Thanks for the Memories Emory... A Night With SWC Coaches" event will raise money for Bellard's medical expenses and act as a fundraiser for the 12th MKOT's scholarship program.
Along with Bellard's doctor from Scott & White, football legends Frank Broyles, Spike Dykes, Grant Teaff, Bill Yeoman, Bum Phillips, R.C. Slocum, 12th MKOT's founder Jackie Sherrill, along with former football players of Emory's from A&M and MSU will be in
attendance.
Anyone wishing to donate to Bellard can do so using an account started at Wells Fargo. Checks should be made to the 12th MKOT Foundation with Emory Bellard in the memo. The account number is 1303889222.
Tickets for Friday's event are available for purchase through the Foundation at 800-481-1876 or aggie12thmkot@yahoo.com. More information is available at the
12th MKOT's website.
