Maurice Daniel Havlik
(March 1, 1921 - August 11, 2010)
Maurice Daniel (Maury) Havlik, 89, of Lake Jackson passed away at his home Wednesday, August 11, 2010. He was born March 1, 1921 in Moulton, Texas to John and Anna Havlik. Maury graduated from Texas A & M in 1942 and upon graduation he went to work at Dow Chemical Company. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Maury retired from Dow after 42 years of service.
He married Patricia Ann Husch on September 1, 1949 in Freeport, Texas. Maury was a devout member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Raymond Havlik.
Maury is survived by his wife of over 60 years Patricia, four children: Jay Michael Havlik of Lake Jackson,
Steven Mark Havlik of Sunrise Beach, Texas, David Maury Havlik and wife Kelly Lea of Lake Jackson, Texas, Sarita Patrice Marshall and husband Larry of Burnet, Texas, one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Rene Havlik of Lake Jackson and one brother John J. Havlik and wife Irene of Katy, Texas.
The family will receive friends 6:30 until 8:30 Friday at the Lakewood Funeral Chapel . Rosary services will be 7 pm Friday at Lakewood. Funeral services will be 10 am Saturday, August 14, 2010 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Monsignor Leo Wleczyk officiating.
Pall bearers will be his sons, son-in-law, brother –in-law John Husch, and his nephew Byron Husch.
