Rose Sharon Hoover, 40, of Calvert, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010, at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, August 23, 2010, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan with a Rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial is set for 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 24, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Franklin, Texas, with Father Melvin Dornak officiating. Interment will follow at the Wheelock Cemetery.
Rose was born August 25, 1969, in Damon, Texas, to Ernest and Cindy Matejka. Rose was known for her abundant love of animals, especially horses. She was a very proud Catholic and member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Rose was a Class of 1994 graduate of Texas A&M University. She also worked at the Texas Transportation Institute for Texas A&M.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Matejka, grandfathers, Joe Matejka and John Macek, and her grandmother, Steffi Matejka.
Survivors include her husband, Bradley Hoover, of Calvert, Texas; mother, Cindy Matejka, of Calvert, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Robyn Matejka, of Bryan, Texas; uncle, Butch Macek, of Bryan, Texas; nieces, Leeann Matejka and Maria Matejka, of Bryan, Texas; cousin, John Macek, of Bryan, Texas; and numerous other cousins and special friends.
