Published: Thursday, June 3, 2010 2:32 PM CDT (Fort Bend Herald) James Meyer Published: Thursday, June 3, 2010 2:32 PM CDT Funeral services for James Albert Meyer, 62, of Needville, will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg, with Pastor Curry Juneau officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Needville, with Pastor Charles Surovik officiating. Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 4, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. James was born Dec. 6, 1947 in Houston, to Albert William Meyer and Matilda Poehls Meyer. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He touched the lives of many people. He was a devoted Christian, a loving husband, and outstanding father and grandfather - not to mention, a fierce card player and a proud Aggie, `74. He passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at his residence in Needville. James stayed the race and finished the course. He is preceded in death by his father, Albert Meyer. James is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jo Meyer; daughters, Cheryl Kunz and husband, Troy, and Sarah Bleeker and husband, Tim; borrowed daughters: Renee McCrae, Dianna Alvarado and Heidi Jones; mother, Matilda Meyer; sister, Linda Arndt and husband, Frank; grandchildren: Taylor Meyer, Timmy Bleeker, Andrew Kunz, Reagan Bleeker and Rylee Bleeker; borrowed grandchildren, Tye Brooke Alvarado and Ashleigh Alvarado; along with other loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family requests donations be made to Quail Valley Church Building Fund, 2302 FM 1092, Missouri City, Texas 77459, or to OakBend Medical Center, Attention: Cindy Reaves, 1705 Jackson St., Richmond, Texas 77469, in lieu of flowers. His family would like to thank the outstanding doctors, nurses, and staff at OakBend Medical Center for all their love and care.
