James Walter Goldsmith, Jr.

July 10, 1969 - April 12, 2024

On April 12, 2024, at the age of 54 years, James Walter Goldsmith, Jr.,
passed away from this life while surrounded by family at his home in Cibolo,
Texas. He has gone home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jim
was a devout Christian, with a strong faith he shared often with many, many
others.

Jim was born in Houston, Texas, on July 10, 1969. After completing high
school in Katy, Texas, in 1987, he graduated from Texas A&M with a
degree in Speech and Communication in 1991.

After college he worked as a catastrophic claim adjustor for a major
insurance company. In 2006, Jim fulfilled his dream of becoming an
attorney, earning his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Baylor University, and
worked as a lawyer until his passing.

Jim married the love of his life, Stephanie, in 2007. Early in their marriage,
while living in Round Rock, they experienced the birth of their two
daughters, Caton and Georgia, and the adoption of their daughter Ridgley
and son Max. Later adventures included time spent in San Antonio, Pipe
Creek, and Bandera.

Jim was an avid supporter of all things Aggie, having been a member of the
Corps of Cadets, the award-winning Fish Drill Team, and the highly
acclaimed Ross Volunteers. He acquired many close friends during his time
at A&M and maintained those friendships throughout his adult life.
After a long battle with melanoma, Jim received a terminal diagnosis in
August of 2023. He and Stephanie planned a celebration of life that was
held in Gruene, Texas, on October 15. Jim didn’t want a memorial he
couldn’t be present for! Scores of friends from Katy High School, Texas
A&M, and his church, along with many members of his family, attended.
Those who couldn’t make it to the event sent many messages of love and
encouragement. It was a wonderful tribute to a life well lived.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, James Walter Goldsmith, Sr. He is
survived by his wife, Stephanie DuBose Goldsmith, mother, Loretta Kamas
Goldsmith, sister, Amanda Goldsmith Dixon, brother-in-law, Jeff Dixon,
children Ridgley, Max, Caton, and Georgia, nephew Tyler Dixon and his
wife, Brandi, niece Maggie Dixon Howard, and her husband Kegan. Also,
great nieces Everlee Dixon and Odessa Howard, great nephew Cassius
Howard, cousins Curt Kamman, Brad Goldsmith, and Bob Goldsmith, and
uncles Larry Kamas and Leonard Kamman.
