Lindsey Elizabeth (Knowles) Woo

April 19, 1985 - December 30, 2023

With her unexpected death on Saturday, December 30, 2023, Lindsey Elizabeth Knowles Woo left this world behind. No matter at which point of her life you knew her, you will always remember her for her spirit, her spunk, and her love.

Lindsey was born on April 19, 1985, in Austin, Texas, to Mark Edward Knowles and Katherine Joseph Knowles. Lindsey grew up in Austin and attended Hyde Park Baptist School and graduated from Regents School of Austin in 2003. In her toddler, youth, and high school years, she enjoyed dance, cheer, friendships, and dance parties during sleepovers hosted by her late mother. She loved her guitar and quickly developed a love for music while leading worship with the youth at Hyde Park Baptist Church.

Lindsey attended Texas A&M University where she met her late husband, Staff Sgt. Jacob (Jake) Henry Woo of Katy, TX. They were married on February 3, 2007, and together they shared a life that took them on a journey together from College Station to Hawaii, Fort Jackson, SC to Savannah, GA, and other stops along the way. The love they shared together with their companion Ziggy-pup was simply beautiful.

After Jake’s passing in 2013, Lindsey began her next chapter which meant moving away from Georgia and back to her hometown of Austin, TX. She continued being the life of the party while also continuing her love for photography, video, music, as she would play any gig she could in the Live Music Capital of the World.

Her life came to a premature end and her last gesture was to give big. Lindsey was able to breathe life into others, even after she had taken her last breath. One gift she would have been very pleased with is the gift of her heart going to someone in need in Nashville, TN (Music City). Her last gift was a selfless act of kindness, so that others could see life and live it abundantly.

Lindsey is preceded in death by her husband, Jake Woo, and her mother, Katherine Knowles.

Lindsey is survived by her loving father, Mark Knowles, stepmother, Betsy Knowles; her brother, Justin Knowles, and his wife, Andi Knowles, their children/nephews Parker and Beckett; stepsiblings Lieutenant Col. Jackson Dashiell and his wife Stephanie; Caroline Higgins and her husband David; and Kellie Thornally and her husband Chuck, along with their families; grandparents Don and Dolly Joseph, Billy and Judy Knowles; Uncle Don and Aunt Sherri Joseph, cousins Kevin, Adam, and Jessie, along with their families; Uncle Neil Joseph, cousins Hunter and Hayden, along with their families; Uncle Kelly and Aunt Peggy Joseph, cousins Megan and Kyle, along with their families; Uncle Monte and Suzanne Knowles.

Lindsey will be buried with her late husband Jake Woo at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, TX. We will celebrate her life with one last party for Woo on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 2:00pm, at Beck Funeral Home located at 1700 E. Whitestone Blvd, Cedar Park, TX 78613 (512) 259-1610.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital or Texas Organ Sharing Alliance in her memory.
