William Joe "Bill" Hopfer

August 14, 1946 - November 28, 2023

William Joe Hopfer "Bill", age 77, was born August 14, 1946, in Guthrie, Oklahoma and passed away November 28, 2023, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born to Walter Joe and Fern Hopfer.

After graduating from Texas A&M University, Bill served in the United States Army and was stationed at the Panama Canal Zone. Carol joined him in Panama after their wedding in 1971. Following his discharge, Bill and Carol moved to Kansas where he worked for Cities Service at a carbon black plant. From there, the family moved to St. Louis, Missouri where they lived for eight years. Upon their return to Texas, they settled in Keller with their 1-year-old son. Two years later, a daughter followed, and the family was complete. Bill worked for Sid Richardson in Ft. Worth and later worked in Dallas for Endevco, Hunt Energy and TPA. Later in his career, he worked for Bob Short and Sons, eventually buying out the company with several others, forming Tri Tex Technologies in 2001. He remained a principal owner in the company until it was sold in 2014, when he happily embraced retired life.

Bill enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and woodworking. One of his favorite pastimes was traveling across the country with relatives, visiting national parks and making memories.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carol Hopfer; children, Greg Hopfer and his wife Kate, Christy Gail and her husband Robert; grandchildren, Trey Gail, Sydney Gail, Lexi Gail and Daniel Hopfer; brother-in-law, Timothy Mosman and his wife Olivia; sister-in-law, Rebecca Edwards; brother-in-law, Thomas Mosman and his wife Pam; brother-in-law, Jerome Mosman and his wife Cheryl and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
