Thomas Wayne Carlisle passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 29, 2024.

He was born September 3, 1931 in Wilson, OK to Ray and Mary Carlisle of Electra, Texas. He graduated from Electra High School and received a degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M College in 1952. While there, he was a member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band, the Ross Volunteers, and was a Distinguished Student his freshman year.

He married the love of his life, Patricia Barron of Bryan, Texas on July 18, 1953. They had 4 children; Wayne, Gayle, Kay, and Randy.

He served in the US Air Force for 2 years stationed at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, NM where he obtained the rank of Captain. After leaving the service, he was employed with Mobil (Magnolia then) Pipeline Company. After several years with Mobil in Dallas, TX, Torrance, CA, and Tripoli, Libya, Tom moved on to Santa Fe Pipeline in Chicago, IL and Tulsa, OK. There, he rose from Sr. Engineer to General Manager responsible for all company field operations handling natural gas liquids, diesel, and anhydrous ammonia thru 9 states.

Later, he left Santa Fe and joined Celeron Pipeline Company in Austin, TX and Bakersfield, CA as Construction Coordinator, Manager of Oil Movements, and Manager of Engineering. At that time, Celeron constructed and operated a 36" pipeline handling crude oil from offshore California to Texas.

Tom never forgot his Aggie roots and was President for the Aggie clubs in Tulsa, OK and Bakersfield, CA. He was class agent for the A&M Class of 1952 at his death.

He loved music and sang in the Brazos Valley Chorale and the choir at First Baptist Church of Bryan. His church was a very important part of his life and for many years he was involved with teaching Sunday school classes wherever he lived.

While his sons were young, Tom was very involved with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America serving as Cub Scout leader and Scoutmaster.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Mary Carlisle; his daughter, Kay Carlisle Sanders; his son, Randy Carlisle; and his sister, Kitty Carlisle Piland.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Patricia; his son, Wayne Carlisle (Gail) of Howe, TX; daughter, Dr. Carolyn Gayle Carlisle of Knoxville, TN; and his sister, Sara Carlisle Guthrie of Springfield, MO; and nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren who will miss their Grandad greatly.
