Mike Dudley, a devoted family man and respected oil field worker, passed away on January 10, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on November 27, 1949, in Kermit, Texas to Tommie Lou Dudley and Benjamin Franklin Dudley, Mike's life was a beacon of steadfast dedication to his family, his love for ballroom dancing, and his passion for big band music.
Mike was preceded in death by his brother Marc. He leaves behind a loving and close-knit family, including his sister, Katherine Dendy, and his sons, Shawn Reynolds and Marcus Dudley. He is also survived by two grandsons, two granddaughters, and two great-grandchildren. Mike's numerous nephews and nieces also hold dear memories of their beloved uncle. A pillar of strength and support, Mike worked tirelessly in the oil fields to ensure the well-being of his family, embodying resilience and a strong work ethic that inspired all who knew him.
A proud Aggie, Mike's affection for his Aggie buddies and the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band showcased his enduring loyalty and vibrant spirit. His presence at games and events was marked by enthusiasm and pride.
Mike's passion for ballroom dancing and big band music was a joyful expression of his vibrant spirit. His evenings spent on the dance floor, moving gracefully to the rhythm of the music, left lasting impressions of joy and elegance.
Mike's life, brimming with dedication, love, and joy, will be fondly remembered and cherished in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we bid farewell, we find comfort in the enduring impact of Mike's legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Mike Dudley.
A celebration of Mike's life will take place at 2pm. on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel in Granbury, Texas. Friends and family are invited to come together to share memories and honor the life of this extraordinary man.
