He met the love of his life and wife Carolyn in San Antonio, Texas on one of his business trips with Kraft Foods. They were married for 53 years and had two children, Jessica and Landon.

Wayne loved the game of golf and played every chance he had. He loved watching all sports but especially ANY Aggies sport. He looked forward to taking many yearly bus trips to College Station to watch his Aggies play football. He also served as the Donna Quarterback Club president and the Pan American Golf Association president for many years raising funds for the local youth community. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, teasing them every chance he had. He always had a positive attitude and loved to give any kind of advice.
