James Donald Beaver

April 27, 1932 - August 12, 2023

James Donald Beaver, 91, went to be with his sovereign Lord and Savior on August 12, 2023. He was born on April 27, 1932, in Teague, TX, to parents Clarence Marvin and Wilma Vera Beaver. James married the love of his life Mary Joyce Buster on June 7, 1952. His life left a huge imprint upon many people, and a legacy for his family to cherish and strive to replicate.

James’ life was marked by many things. All who befriended him undoubtedly knew that he loved Jesus Christ, his family, his country, his church, his friends, and of course, his Aggies.

James graduated from Port Neches High School, attended Texas A&M University, and earned a degree in engineering. He was self-employed as a Professional Engineer and was very involved with numerous building projects throughout Texas. James had a heart to serve. Beginning at an early age, he became an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. He was a Captain in the US Air Force where he served for 10 years, member of the Masonic Order 3rd Degree, Scottish Rite 32nd Degree, and a member and past President of the Irving Rotary Club where he had 45 years of perfect attendance.

As involved and committed as James was to his community, he was more committed to his Lord and his family. Left to cherish the memory of James is his wife of 71 years, Joyce Beaver, his two children Mike (wife, Diane) Beaver, and Terry (husband, Frank) Starr, and Keith Nelson; Grandchildren: Ryan (wife, Alicia) Beaver, Emily (husband, Tim) Davis, Brett (wife, Cassie) Beaver, Staley Chernoff, Ashley (husband, Bryce) Stone, Chad (wife, Ashley) Nelson, Caroline (husband, Troy) Williams, Erin (husband, Gentry) Wilburn, Katelyn Nelson (fiancé, Ford Branan), Natalie Starr and Clint (wife, Kristin) Prater; and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 19th at Colonial Funeral Home in Irving, located at 606 West Airport Freeway. The burial will take place at a later date at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
