William Allen Kyle, Jr. 

September 3, 1930 - September 19, 2023 

William A. Kyle, Jr. (Bill), passed away on September 19, 2023. Bill was born on September 3, 1930 in Houston, Texas to William A. Kyle and Maxine Robson Kyle.

Bill graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1948 and Texas A&M University in 1953. He served 2 years in the Air Force as a base transportation officer and AF commissioned 2nd Lieutenant stationed at Pepperell Air Command in St. John’s Newfoundland. He was honorably discharged as 1st Lieutenant in 1955 where he met his wife, Janette Henkhaus.

Bill and Jan were married July 10, 1954 and resided in Nursery, Texas. He was a lifelong rancher and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Bill was Constable of Precinct #2 for 16 years. He was one of the original founding members of the Nursery Volunteer Fire Department founded in 1967 and served as President. He served as Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent of the Steer Division of the Victoria Livestock Show. He served as President of the Nursery Independent School District for many years and was also a board member of the Victoria Soil and Water District.

Bill is survived by sons, Jeff Allen Kyle (Sherri), William A. Kyle, III (Libby) and daughter, Susan Kyle Ferno. Bill also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Jake and Thomas Kyle, Katey Kyle, Katherine and Allen Ferno, and two step-grandchildren, Curtis and Hunter Kelly to cherish his memory.

Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janette Henkhaus Kyle; sister, Lucia Kyle Jordan and son-in-law, Paul Allen Ferno.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 10-11am at Holy Family Catholic Church followed by Mass at 11am. Graveside services will immediately follow at Nursery Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jake and Thomas Kyle, Allen Ferno, Curtis and Hunter Kelly and Jason Mikeska.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Larry Riedel, Todd Janota, Jeff Meyer, Garrett and Clay Ohrt, Trey Ruschaupt, John Kolodzey, Edward Heller, Johnny Kusak and Phillip Henry.

The family would like to thank Bill’s caregivers Irma Ochoa, Joanna Vargas, Janice Bernal, Lakishia Ellison, Zeferina Garley and Deborah Menchaca. Also Angels for Elders and George Hadash and the staff at Zoom Physical Therapy.
