Kathy Berry Huddleston

January 30, 1959 - January 11, 2024

Kathy Huddleston passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on January 11, 2024. Kathy was born January 30, 1959, in Waco, Texas. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Peter D. Huddleston, her daughter Katherine Huddleston, her son William Huddleston and wife Anny, granddaughters Harper and Hailey Huddleston, brother Michael Berry and wife Arni, and sister Diane Sample. She was preceded in death by her parents Celestine and Melvin Berry.

Kathy was a graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of 1981, with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. She spent her career in the oil and gas industry working with Enserch Exploration and Peter Paul Petroleum. Although “retired,” she proudly maintained her professional engineer’s license until her passing. She loved Texas A&M football, traveling and planning upcoming trips, tennis, golf, hiking, skiing, pickleball, and mahjong with her friends and family. She especially treasured spending summers and holidays in Vail, Colorado and football weekends in College Station, Texas.

Kathy was a member of the Junior League, volunteer at The Branch, tutor at Memorial High School, active PTA member at Memorial Drive Elementary, Spring Branch Middle School, and Memorial High School, Vacation Bible School and Confirmation leader at Chapelwood, and former president of the Women’s Association of the Houston Racquet Club. Kathy and Peter have also been long time supporters of Texas A&M University, The Houston Museum of Natural Science and Chapelwood United Methodist Church.

The Huddleston Family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Marlana Orloff-Dacey and Dr. David Eschelman and their team of the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson Health in Philadelphia for their care and compassion throughout her treatment.

Kathy will be sincerely missed by her husband, children, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, brother, sister, and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at Chapelwood Methodist Church in Houston, Texas on January 25, 2024, at 3:00 in the afternoon with a reception to follow at the Houston Racquet Club.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Texas A&M University, The Houston Museum of Natural Science, or the charity of your choice.
