December 9, 1954 - November 18, 2023 

Leslie Ewell Campbell, 68, of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away November 18, 2023. Leslie was born December 9, 1954, in Memphis, TN, to Betty Burton Campbell and the late Charles A Campbell. The oldest of five children, Leslie was a loving husband to Denise Currier Campbell and a devoted father to his sons Dane Campbell and wife Chris, Nathan Campbell and wife Nichole, and foster daughter Heather Hanna. He adored his grandchildren Patrick, Natalie, Hannah, and Caroline Campbell. Leslie is survived by his sisters Charlene McPherson and husband Glen, Liz Almond and husband Kevin, Laura Hugghins and husband Kevin, brother Charlie Campbell and wife Brandy, and many nieces and nephews.

Leslie attended MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas and later earned his degree from Texas A&M University, graduating May 1977. He met the love of his life during his freshman year at A&M and they married August 9, 1975. They were best friends and devoted companions for 48 years. Leslie loved spending time with his family at home and on vacations, as well as life in the country with all his animals and projects including gardening and canning made him very happy.

Leslie always had a smile/smirk on his face and a big hearty/robust laugh. He loved his family and friends and lived life to the fullest. He never met a stranger and seeing the good in everyone. Leslie was always ready to lend a hand to anyone that needed help. Leslie will be remembered for his kind heart and his joy for life.

Leslie had a successful career at IBM for 38 years. He had a special gift for handling numbers and working with people. He worked his way up from an entry level dispatcher to an IT Service Manager who was well respected and a resource to his co-workers. After retirement, Leslie and Denise enjoyed traveling and seeing the world.

Leslie was an active member of Ferris Heights United Methodist Church, where he worshipped and found solace. He also was a devoted Aggie and was maroon and white to the core. He was a Director of the Rudder Association at A&M and was President of the Ellis A&M Club, where he was passionate about fundraising activities to provide scholarships for students attending Texas A&M. He will be sorely missed by his Aggie friends.

Leslie's memorial service will be held on December 16 at 11 a.m. at Ferris Heights UMC, located at 108 Center St. Waxahachie, TX 75165. 

For those who wish to make a contribution in Leslie's memory, donations can be made to the Ellis A&M Club. The donations will be used to fund scholarships for students attending Texas A&M University. Contributions can be sent or dropped off at the offices of Foster Massengill, PLLC, Attention: Ellis A&M Club, 101 South Dallas Street, Suite 200, Ennis, Texas.

Leslie Ewell Campbell will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. May his memory be a blessing.
