Tom was born Aug. 15, 1951, in Kerrville, Texas, the eldest of five children born to Thomas Allen and Dora Neihaus Rodgers. His parents preceded him in death. Tom graduated from Corsicana High School in 1969. His athletic abilities allowed him to compete in track, baseball, and his most loved football. He was named to the AAA All District First Team for offense and defense. Tom was awarded a four-year scholarship to play football for East Central State University in Ada, Oklahoma. Tom and Bobby Moorehead, his best friend and quarterback, headed to Ada in August of 1969. During his time at East Central he met teammates that would remain the closest of friends for life, a band of brothers.

Tom transferred to Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas to finish his degree in Business Finance. Blessed with a beautiful voice, Tom was proud to be a member of the all-male, acapella choir at A&M, the Singing Cadets. He also sang in the high school acapella choir and the choir at First Methodist Church in Corsicana.

After graduation, Tom worked in banking for a brief time. He found his true calling in sales. Tom was well respected in the fuel equipment and construction industry in which he worked for over 40 years. His ability to remember equipment and part numbers was extraordinary. His personality was such that he was always upbeat and positive. He never met a stranger.

Tom and Karen married March 31, 2001, blending their families of three boys and one girl. Throughout their marriage there was never a "mine" or "yours," only an "ours." They worked together to ensure that the children knew they were proud of their accomplishments and very much loved.

Tom is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, Matthew (Tamara) and Caleb (Hollie); stepson, Jake Swinney (Lauren); stepdaughter, Jenn Tondre (Cody); siblings, John Rodgers (Carol), Linda Rodgers (Tex), Jim Rodgers (Brenda) and Jan Pavlica (Terry); grandchildren, Liam, Naomi, Lexton, Hadley, Lane, Riley, Cooper and Landry; nieces and nephews, Susan, David, Nathan, Kristen and Allen; as well as a host of cousins.
