Anthony Edward "Tony" Prieto

September 15, 1971 - June 29, 2023

Anthony (Tony) Edward Prieto passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 29, 2023 in Austin, Texas. He was 51 years old. Tony was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 15, 1971 and moved to Richardson, Texas in 1977. For the past 18 years, he was a resident of Austin.

Tony graduated from Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas in 1989 where he lettered in athletics as a member of the golf team. He developed a love of golf at an early age, often rising before dawn to roll newspapers with his dad before they would head to the golf course together. His lifelong passion for golf was shared with his daughters, his father and many friends on a variety of golfing adventures.

After graduating from high school, Tony received a History degree from Texas A&M University, College Station, in 1993. Upon graduation, he began his career as a restaurant manager for Snuffer's Restaurant and Bar in Dallas. He later returned to College Station to open a new restaurant as Snuffer's grew to include more locations. In 2000, Tony switched to a career as a sales professional for pharmaceuticals and medical devices. His employment spanned AstraZeneca, Sanofi S.A. and finally Tandem Diabetes.

Tony was a loving father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He loved his daughters immensely and was happiest spending time with his girls. Tony loved cooking and trying new recipes, and he especially enjoyed mastering New Orleans favorites from his childhood. His friends and family will miss his quick wit, his deep thoughts, and the sound of his laughter as he told yet another joke.

Tony is the son of Harry Peter Prieto, Jr. and Margaret Heine Prieto. He is survived by his daughters, Angelina Lynn Prieto and Isabella (Bella) Grace Prieto, and their mother, Hillary Rabun Prieto. He is also survived by his sisters Angela Tuller (Mike), Lisa Shield Vines (Les), and Lauren Curtin (Matt), his aunts Laura Prieto Miester and Joycelyn Graffagnini Heine, his godmother Patricia Diguardi Argabright (Glen), along with many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Tony is also survived by Angelina and Bella's grandmother, Janet Rabun and their aunt, Tracey Rabun Coe (Bill).

Tony is preceded in death by his grandparents, Edwin Alois Heine, Angelina Diguardi Heine, Harry Peter Prieto, and Inez Dubourg Prieto, his uncles, Edwin Anthony Heine and Alvin Charles Miester, Jr., and Angelina and Bella's grandfather, Henry Michael Rabun, Jr.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Angels Chapel at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 7801 Bay Branch Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77382 on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 1:00pm. A reception will follow at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, TX 77384.
