Richard Dale Dalton
July 11, 1938 - August 19, 2023

Richard D. Dalton went to be with his Lord on August 19, 2023. Dick was born on July 11, 1938, in Arlington, Texas. He was the youngest of 10 children born to Brit and Jessie Dalton. He graduated from Arlington High School, where he was a member of the DeMolays and the Key Club. He attended Texas A&M University, Class of 1960 in Architectural Construction. He was a member of the Aggie Singing Cadets. While he was at Texas A&M he met his wife of 61 years, Margie, who worked at the University. He served in both the Army and Air Force Reserves. After college, he also worked with young kids in Junior Achievement. He was employed by Mosher Steel Company for 40 years. He served as Vice President of sales which included contracts for the steel fabrication of many high-rise buildings, power plants and numerous steel bridges across the country, including the Houston ship channel bridge, Beltway 8 interchanges, and The World Trade Centers.

He and Margie enjoyed their time as youth leaders at Grace Presbyterian, where they have been members since 1974. Dick enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and fishing. For many years Dick and Margie enjoyed their season tickets cheering on their beloved Aggie football team. He mostly loved attending the many activities of his grandchildren. There was never an outing he didn’t stop to tell a stranger one of his latest jokes.

He is survived by his wife, Margie, son Keith and wife Donna, daughter Karen Koster and husband Lars, his grandchildren, Blake Dalton and wife Kayla, Brandon Dalton, Kirby Koster, and Kendall Koster. He was fortunate to have enjoyed his first great grandchild Savannah Dalton.

A celebration of his life is planned for Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at 10:30 A.M. at Grace Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, 10221 Ella Lee, Houston, TX 77042.
