Ann Howard Smith 

April 11, 1955 - July 29, 2023 

Ann Howard Smith passed away on July 29, 2023, from metastatic breast cancer. Born April 11, 1955, to Dorothy Nelson Howard and John Ford Howard, Ann made Dallas her home for 45 years.

Following her graduation from Texas A&M University, Ann enjoyed a career in accounting and software development. She married Monty Smith in 1983, and after an early retirement, they moved to Taos, NM. Ann made many great friends while hiking, skiing, gardening, rafting, camping, playing bridge and exploring Taos and the southwest.

She is survived by loving husband and caregiver Monty and his daughter Nikki Smith, attentive and supportive sister Cheryl Toman and nieces Kristin (Taylor) Love, Laura (James) Devinney, Lynn (Mike) Taylor, and her great-nieces and great-nephew who loved her like a grandparent. Ann treasured the memories and time spent with family and her Tri-Hi-Y friends, who were a tremendous source of encouragement in her life.
