Stevan Abram Velazquez 
August 2, 1980 - July 27, 2023 

Stevan Abram Velazquez, 42, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023. Stevan was born August 2, 1980 in Houston, Texas to Alfredo Mauro Velazquez Jr. and Fran Ybarra Velazquez.

He is preceded in death by his father, Alfredo and is survived by his mother, Fran Velazquez; son, Silas Wertz; Sisters, Erica Perales & husband Richard, Amanda Techasith & husband Tust; nieces and nephews, Brayden Perales, Landon Perales, Camden Perales, Presley Perales, Clara Techasith and Finn Techasith.

Stevan was born and raised in Houston Texas. He attended Elsik High School and went on to graduate from Texas A & M University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. While attending the university he was a member of the Texas Aggie Corp of Cadets. After graduating from college, he went to work for Neiman Marcus as his first engineering job. In 2015 he left his beloved Texas and moved to Georgia for the birth of his son Silas. During that time he had a long career with UPS as an industrial engineer.

Stevan was very proud of being an Aggie and he always made it a point to attend at least one Texas A&M home football game each year. He also enjoyed landscaping as a hobby and always was ready and willing to give friends and family advice on how to improve their yards. In addition to that he enjoyed playing video games and practicing music on his guitar. Stevan was loved by friends and family and will be greatly missed by those who knew him well.

The Velazquez family will be present to receive friends Sunday, August 20, 2023 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM with a Rosary service beginning at 4:00 PM at Dettling Funeral Home, 14094 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77079. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, August 21, 2023 at 10:30 AM at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church, 13350 Ashford Point Drive, Houston, TX 77082. Stevan will be laid to rest in Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery following Holy Mass.
