Richard Charles Ostinelli 
September 19, 1937 — April 15, 2023 

Richard Charles Ostinelli, age 85, of Wylie, Texas, was born September 19, 1937, in Joliet, IL, to Charles and Mary (Gavoni) Ostinelli. Surrounded by loved ones, he passed away peacefully on April 15, 2023.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Ostinelli, and his sister Lucille Wedeking.

Richard is survived by his sister Rosemary VanHorn; his wife of 64 years Shirley Joyce Hanka Ostinelli; his daughter Anne Hiney and her husband Bill; son Stephen Ostinelli and his wife Linda; grandchildren Hayden Ostinelli and his wife Lorin; Alexander Ostinelli, and David Hiney; and great-granddaughter Clara Lucille.

Richard attended Texas A&M University for two years, where he studied forestry and thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the Aggie Corp of Cadets. He was drafted into the US Army and proudly served his country for two years; he was honorably discharged at the rank of PFC E-3 and was awarded a Good Conduct Medal. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long career in sales. After his retirement, he and Shirley enjoyed traveling, and he was proud to have visited all 50 states.

Richard was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved his family with all his heart. He will be greatly missed by our family and friends.
