John Huntlee Alderman
December 31, 1937 - June 27, 2023
John Huntlee Alderman, age 85, went to be with the Lord June 27, 2023.
He was born December 31, 1937, in San Antonio, TX to Elizabeth and John Alderman. He graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1957 then went on to earn his master’s degree in petroleum engineering from his beloved Texas A&M University. John also served in the US Army as a green beret. After much perseverance he then earned his doctorate in environmental science in 2001 from the University of North Texas.
John met his wife, Carleen, while they were working together at Shamrock Oil & Gas in Amarillo, TX. They married June 12, 1965, and eventually ended up in Lewisville, TX in 1972 and never left! They joined First Presbyterian Church and John faithfully served there in many roles including leading mission trips to the Texas/Mexico border. He was involved for many years with Christian Community Action and mentored young men at the Gainesville State School. John lived his life on mission.
John is survived by his wife, Carleen, daughter Sharon (Todd) Brandenburger of Flower Mound, TX, son Huntlee (Patti) Alderman of London, England, brother Donald (Cindy) of Kelso, Washington. He’s also survived by his grandchildren Hayden, Piper, and Andie Brandenburger, Avery and Grant Alderman.
John loved Jesus, his wife, his kids, his grandkids, and the Texas Aggies. (We’re not sure of the order of his devotion, however)
A celebration of life will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 1002 Fox Ave, Lewisville on Wednesday, July 12 at 2pm. Memorials can be sent to CCA at ccahelps.org or 200 S Mill St Lewisville TX 75057.
