Jonathan Michael Parr
November 16, 1982 - June 22, 2023

Jonathan Michael Parr went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 22, 2023.

Jonathan was born in Abilene, TX on November 16th, 1982, to Janet Bisbee and Michael Parr. Jonathan graduated from Baird High School in 2001, and from Texas A&M University, Class of ‘05, summa cum laude with a degree in Rangeland Management and Ecology. He enjoyed making memories watching his Fighting Texas Aggies with his family and loved the opportunity to share his experiences from College Station with anyone who was willing to listen.

He worked for the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service for 21 years working with many farmers and ranchers across the region. He was actively involved in his community serving on the Quanah Chamber of Commerce board for many years and an active member of the Pease River Cowboy Church. He was an Eagle Scout and was recognized for many different achievements from the USDA-NRCS throughout his years of employment.

Jonathan met the love of his life, Jonna, and they were married on January 19, 2008, in Big Spring, TX, and settled in Quanah, TX. Together they have two sons, Prather Webb and Collier Wade. He was a rancher, loved working with his wife and taught his boys everything he knew, leaving a great legacy. Jonathan loved his family and the Lord, was kind, would give you the shirt off of his back, was usually the life of the party, and made sure you knew you were loved when you left his presence.

Jonathan is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: David Webb, Armour Lee and Diamond Anderson, paternal grandparents: Leroy and Frankie Parr.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Jonna Marie (Wade) Parr and two sons, Prather Webb Parr (age 14) and Collier Wade Parr (age 11) of Quanah, TX; mother, Janet Bisbee and husband Billy Bisbee of Baird, TX; father, Michael Parr of Baird, TX; brother, James Cole and wife Kimberley of Baird, TX; sister, Amie King, husband Shannon and children, Zak and Baylee of Abilene, TX. Family in-love, Jeana Phillips and husband Ron of Brownwood, TX; Johnnie Wade Jr. of Quanah, TX; grandparents, Shirley Wade of Quanah, TX; Freddy Prather of Paducah, TX; Marcia Hokett of Abilene, TX; brother-in-law Josh Wade, wife Jennifer and children Gavin, Emma, Reese, Campbell, and Brody of Lubbock, TX. Many bonus brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Jonathan also had a very large “framily” that he considered brothers, sisters, and kids of his own. He was loved by so many!

A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Pease River Cowboy Church in Goodlett, TX.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Pease River Cowboy Church, P.O. Box 35, Quanah, TX 79252, or Northwest Texas A&M Club, P.O. Box 1754, Vernon, TX 76385.
