Ronald Ike Lyons 

March 29, 1938 - January 6, 2023 

Ronald Ike Lyons, the loving husband of Jean Folse Lyons, passed away peacefully at her side on Friday, January 6. He was 84 years old. He was the only child of Lena Schoenfeldt and Ike Lyons. Ron was previously married to Jackie Lyons and had two sons, Kevin Christopher Lyons (Danette) and their daughter, Jenna Lyons, and Steven Michael Lyons.

He also embraced his 5 step-children, Pamela Ann McGinity, Steven Curtis McGinity (Nancy), Richard Joseph McGinity IV, John Michael McGinity (Amy) and Douglas Donahue McGinity.

Ron also enjoyed nine grandchildren, Steven Curtis McGinity, Jr., Madeline Anne McGinity, Meagan Kathleen McGinity, Courtney Odell McGinity, Allison Northrop McGinity, Ryan Donahue McGinity, Matthew Joseph McGinity, Richard “Jack” Jacob McGinity, and Addison Owen McGinity.

Ron was a native of Houston, Texas, graduating from Texas A&M University in Engineering and a member of Sigma Gamma Tare Honor Society. He also was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets, Squadron 18 ’59.

After a short time at Michigan University, he served in the United States Air Force as an aeronautical engineer maintenance officer. After service, he went to Humble Oil (Exxon). There life lead him to Saudi Arabia under contract with Fluor Engineering, then back to the United States with W.H. Linder & Associates working as a procurement agent for off-shore platforms. Ron finished his career at Ochsner Hospital as assistant administrator of the H.L.A. Lab.

Ron was a lover of the outdoors, enjoying camping, canoeing, climbing, and traveling.

There will be a private funeral and interment. In lieu of flowers, masses or donations to Texas A&M University are preferred.
