Michael "Mike" Richard Luman 

August 23, 1966 - August 12, 2022 

Michael “Mike “ Richard Luman, 55, of Lewisville, TX passed away after a brief illness on August 12, 2022. Mike was born on August 23, 1966 in Houston, TX to Richard “Ed” and Jane Luman. He spent his years growing up in Tyler, TX and graduated from Bishop Gorman High School with the Class of ’85.

Mike then attended Texas A&M University and pursued a degree in Journalism. While attending A&M he was an editor for the campus newspaper, The Battalion. Mike was very passionate about his Aggies and enjoyed immersing himself in all the traditions and athletic events during his time at A&M.

After graduation from Texas A&M, Mike worked with several companies but ultimately spent the majority of his career at the Dallas Morning News for 20+ years as a news editor, Page 1 Designer and Copy Chief.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Richard “Ed” Luman.  He is survived by his mother Jane Luman of Lewisville; his son Kyle Luman, also of Lewisville; his sister Lori Weed and husband Jim of Highland Village and brother Bob Luman and wife, Jennifer Eslava of Burien, WA as well as nephew Dalton Weed and nieces Sawyer Weed and Violet Luman.

A Memorial Service in his honor will be on Tuesday, August 16th at St. Ann Catholic Parish in Coppell, TX at 2 PM in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions can be made in Mike’s memory to his beloved Aggies at 12th Man Foundation P.O. Box 2800 College Station, TX 77841-2800.
