Alvin Allen Goldapp, Jr. 

April 19, 1951 - February 26, 2023 

Alvin Allen Goldapp, Jr., 71, of Frisco, Texas died on February 26, 2023. Allen was born in Alice, Texas to Alvin Allen Goldapp, Sr. and Kathleen Postert Goldapp. Allen enjoyed living and working on his family farm. He loved being in 4H and especially the Rifle Team where he became the state champion. He met his high school sweetheart, Cathy Smith Goldapp in 1968 and they were married in 1971 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Alice, TX.

Allen was a proud member of the Texas Aggie Class of 1973, and received a degree in Parks and Recreation. In 1994 he received his Masters Degree in Public Administration from Texas State University. Allen spent over 45 years working for the State of Texas. The majority of his years he worked in Physical Plant Management and Energy Management at a variety of State Universities.

Allen had so many hobbies when he retired. He was a wonderful woodworker, he loved exercise and water sports. He especially enjoyed traveling with his family. He loved nature and the outdoors. One of his more brave hobbies was learning Improv Acting at 69 years old. Allen had such a kind heart, he loved meeting new people and talking hours to them about everything. Reading and learning were his greatest loves and he passed this passion to both of his beloved grandchildren.

Art was very dear to his heart and he learned painting after his retirement and enjoyed his lessons from his friend, Mateo Arceneaux. It was a surprise to him that he was able to continue painting after his accident and becoming a quadraplegic. He loved painting landscapes, sunsets, and his beloved animal friends.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cathy, son Casey Allen Goldapp and wife Shannon, granddaughter, Emory, son Cameron Kent Goldapp and partner, Lauren Davis, grandson, August Elmer Goldapp as well as his former daughter-in-law, Lindsay Oyler Goldapp. He is also survived by his brother Karl Goldapp and wife Sandy, and brother, Glenn Goldapp. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, William Kent Smith and wife Mary. He was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Sausley, and his parents Alvin Allen Goldapp, Sr. and Kathleen Postert Goldapp.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2023, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main St., Frisco, Texas, 75033. The service will be livestreamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/alvin-allen-goldapp-jr
