The Association of Former Students often assists with hotel accommodations for pilots and crew for flyovers before Texas A&M home football games. This time, it's a more unusual event: an Aggie baseball flyover!
Two Aggie pilots will be part of the flyover of a C-130J Super Hercules before Friday's 6 p.m. baseball game vs. LSU: Lt. Col. Brian Kriss '01 and Capt. Matthew McBride '11.
The flyover above Texas A&M's Blue Bell Park is scheduled for just after the national anthem plays at 5:59 p.m. and will be conducted by the 181st Airlift Squadron of the Texas Air National Guard, based at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth. The C-130J is among the largest types of military transport aircraft.
Support for gameday events is a small part of The Association's mission to serve Texas A&M and all Aggies, both current students and former students, and also highlights Aggies' continuing tradition of service to their country. The Association provides support each year for hundreds of Texas A&M scholarships, student organizations, former student programs, A&M traditions and more, thanks to gifts from some 60,000 annual donors.
