This lost-and-found Aggie Ring story was submitted by Carolyn Taylor '71.
My Aggie Ring is one of my most prized possessions! After a day of doctor's appointments and shopping I noticed my Aggie Ring was missing from my finger. I retraced all my steps that day without success and immediately went into mourning! My husband finally
said after a couple of weeks, "just get over it. We will get you another Ring," to which I replied, "I don't want another Ring, I want my original Ring!"
We decided to wait awhile hoping someone might find it and return it or that it might turn up somewhere. After a year passed we finally decided to order another Ring. A few weeks later we were in Boston at a museum at Harvard when I received a call from my
doctor's office. The person on the other end of the line asked if this was Carolyn Taylor. I said yes. Then she asked if I had lost anything. I said, "yes, my Aggie Ring about a year ago." She verified the date and the name on the inside as my Ring! I was
overcome with emotion and relief, crying tears of joy! She said she would save it for me and I could pick it up when I got home. It had fallen off my hand when I was weighing and had fallen under the scale where it remained for a year until a custodial worker
found it.
I tried to give him a reward, which he adamantly refused to accept. He said, "I know how special an Aggie's Ring is and I wanted you to have it back!" I was able to cancel my order for the new Ring and the rest is history! Just like all Aggies, I am still
wearing my original treasured Aggie Ring with pride!
