Herbert Wayne Loeffler
Herbert Wayne Loeffler, age 66, passed away on July 2, 2012, at his home in Mason County, Texas, surrounded by his family. Herbert was born on January 1, 1946, in Fredericksburg, Texas, to LeeRoy Oliver Loeffler and Anna Louise Kidd.
Herbert graduated from Mason High School and Texas A & M University. He was drafted and served during the Viet Nam conflict, stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C., as a researcher. After his military service, he went to work for the
Federal Land Bank Association where he continued his employment until retirement in December, 2004, at which time he moved back to his family ranch in Mason County, which has been in continuous operation by the family of Gottlieb Brandenberger since 1882,
where Herbert enjoyed reconnecting with his family and friends. The ranch provided years of
enjoyment, work, and room to run his bulldozer.
Herbert was an active member of the Hilda United Methodist Church. He was also a former member of the Early Chamber of Commerce, Mason County Appraisal District Board, and a real estate agent in and around Mason County with Mike Dail Real Estate.
Herbert is survived by his wife, Debi, daughter Lisa and her husband, Jerry Cupps, along with their two daughters, Tanna and Sage of Comanche County, Texas; son Lee Burton Loeffler and his wife, Tina, along with their two children, Breighton and Taylor Ann
of Quanah, Texas; daughter Ali and her husband Lance Reeves, along with their two children, Savannah and Collin of Comanche County, Texas; and son Landon Arlis Loeffler and his wife, Amanda of Hico, Texas. Other survivors include his big brother, LeeRoy (Butch)
Loeffler and wife, Irma of Junction, Texas; Aunt Blan and husband, Jordan Zesch of Mason, Texas; nephew Reggie Loeffler and wife, Cindy; niece Teresa and her husband, Brooks Walker; Shad Loeffler and numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, his
church family and FLBA family.
Services were held on July 3, 2012 at the Hilda United Methodist Church with Pastor Wade Powell officiating, graveside services immediately followed. Family and friends gathered on the church grounds and fellowship hall for lunch and visitation after the services.
Pallbearers were Keith Kensing, Jack Phillips, Mike Dail, Jim Cowsert, Brian Meeks and Dale Bullinger. Honorary Pallbearers were his sons-in-law and grandchildren.
