Michael "Mike" DeVore '69

Michael S. DeVore '69, 60, of Lufkin (formerly of Richmond, Ind., and Houston) died Oct. 19, 2008. He attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and did his internship and residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He joined the Ledbetter Clinic Internal Medicine group in Houston in 1976. He began a solo practice in Corrigan in East Texas in 1982. He left solo practice in 1991 and was an emergency physician at Woodland Heights Medical Center, Memorial Health Systems and other hospitals and clinics throughout the East Texas area. He joined the health care team at Lufkin State School in 2007 and worked there until shortly before he died. Survivors include his wife, Nancy; a son; a daughter, Kimberley M. (DeVore) Ogden '99; two grandchildren; four brothers, including Kevin M. DeVore '79; and a sister.
