Donald A. Avery '69, 74, of Little Rock, Ark. (formerly of Prescott, Ark., and Arkadelphia Ark.), died Aug. 30, 2009. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps and the Army National Guard. He was a physics professor at Henderson State University in Arkadelphia and was chairman of the department until he retired in 1998. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Shelby; two daughters, including Mary G. (Avery) Kemp '85; five grandchildren; a brother; and two sisters.
