Roll Call Tribute

Jeffrey "Jeff" Nelson '80 March 9, 2026 1:10 PM updated: March 9, 2026 1:13 PM

Jeffrey Alan Nelson, DDS

January 18, 1958 - February 25, 2026

Dr. Jeffrey Alan Nelson, 68, of Greenville, Texas, passed away on February 25, 2026, at the Baylor Scott & White Hospital of Frisco. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Rev. Nick Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

Jeff was born January 18, 1958, in Lafayette, Indiana, to Maynard Eugene and Patricia Ann Weaver Nelson. He married Elizabeth Shaver on March 9, 1985, in Greenville, Texas. He was owner of North Texas Dental Care, where he was a dentist. He was a lifelong member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.

Dentistry was more than just a career for Jeff. It was a calling to which he devoted his life and gave his all. His intellect and deep compassion put him at the top of his field and earned him many awards. He strived to be on the cutting edge of dental technology and treated each of his patients as though they were family. Those patients often extended into Honduras where he made numerous trips to provide dental services to many without access to care. As an avid outdoorsman, Jeff loved hunting, fishing, and being on his John Deere tractor. As passionate as he was about dentistry, his favorite roles were that of husband, father, and ''Doc'' to his grandkids, and he could often be heard saying ''ain't nothing wrong with grandbabies.'' He will be remembered for his humor and smile that lit up the room, and leaves behind a legacy of hard work and generosity. His absence is deeply felt and we anxiously await the day we are reunited with him.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Beth Nelson; sister, Julie Robinson and husband, Barry; brother, Mark Nelson and wife, Kay; son Kyle Nelson and wife, Kaci, and their children, Jillian, Kade, Josie, Kinley, and Jonas; son, Kirk Nelson and wife, Briana, and their son, Luke; daughter, Sara Seiffert and husband, Kenny, and their children, Jack and Henry; and son, Dr. Nick Nelson and wife, Jessica, and their children, Parker, Noah, and Hudson; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Jerry Shaver.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Nelson, Kirk Nelson, Dr. Nick Nelson, Kenny Seiffert, Barry Robinson, and Mark Nelson; honorary pallbearers will include Dr. Robert Deuell, Dr. Larry Kimberlin, Ronnie Clack, Jeff Rook, Rob Hall and Shell Gunnels.

Yeehaw, Doc! Until we meet again.
