Kimberly J. (Wells) Hayes
March 17, 1961 - February 28, 2026
Kimberly Wells Hayes, 64, of Bryan, Texas passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, and was received into her Savior's arms on February 28, 2026. Kimberly was born on March 17, 1961, in Plainview, Texas to Marvin and June Wells. She leaves a lasting legacy of faith, selflessness, and joy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Kimberly began her early years in Plainview before moving with her family to Mineral Wells in 1966. In 1972, they settled in Bryan, and later made their home in Denton in 1975. It was there that Kimberly completed her education, graduating from Denton High School in 1979. Following high school, Kimberly pursued her dream of earning a college degree. That dream became a reality in May 1993, when she proudly walked the stage at Texas A&M University to receive her diploma.
Kimberly became engaged to Kenneth Hayes of Bryan on February 14, 1993, with their wedding set for August 14 of that year. They chose to wait until after her graduation to begin planning, and following the commencement, her family helped prepare for the celebration. On August 14, 1993, Kimberly and Kenneth exchanged their wedding vows and, together, began a new adventure.
On August 10, 1995, the Hayes family joyfully welcomed their daughter Kelsey into the world. In February 1999, Kelsey became a sister to her baby brother, Kristopher Scott. With Kris’ arrival, the Hayes family felt beautifully complete. Ken and Kimberly then made the decision for Kimberly to step away from her role as an academic advisor in the Psychology Department at Texas A&M to devote herself fully to their growing family. She embraced the role of full-time mother with love and dedication; carpool lines, soccer games, cheer events, and all. Ken and Kimberly were endlessly proud of the family they built together.
In January 2012, Kimberly underwent a miraculous, lifesaving liver transplant. Though it was a challenging time, it restored her health and brought renewed joy and energy to her life. For the next 14 years, she was a cherished member of Aldersgate Church in College Station, actively participating in and hosting numerous ladies’ Bible studies. Kimberly loved sharing her voice on Sunday mornings and looked forward to the monthly Thursday BUNCO nights, often welcoming friends into the Hayes home to host the game several times a year.
Kimberly cherished every moment spent with her family, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life; cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, nurturing her faith, and engaging her mind with a daily puzzle. She also gave her time and heart through community volunteering, supporting organizations such as The Nest BCS and Aglow Ministries, always eager to make a difference and uplift those around her.
Kimberly is now peacefully reunited with her beloved mother, June Marble Wells. She is lovingly remembered and survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth Scott Hayes; her children, Kelsey Renee Hayes and Kristopher Scott Hayes; her father, Marvin Ernest Wells; and her sisters, Jill Hurlbut and Crystal Kay Wells.
Kimberly’s warmth, laughter, and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the love of her family, the friendships she nurtured, and the countless lives she blessed through her kindness and service. May her memory continue to inspire joy, faith, and generosity in all who were fortunate to know her.
