David Lynn Justice
November 14, 1954 - February 10, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce that David Lynn Justice of Fulshear, Texas, was called home to our Lord and Savior on February 10th, 2026, at 1:44 PM, at 71 years old, surrounded by his loving wife, Stacie, and two children, Aaron and A.J.
David was born on November 14th, 1954. He grew up in Bay City, Texas, with his mother, Dorothy Dawson, his father Jimmie T. Justice and stepbrother, Jimmie Jr. He attended grade school and graduated from Bay City High School (Go Blackcats). He enjoyed playing basketball with friends, raising animals, and working for the local veterinarian.
After graduating from high school, he attended Texas A&M University, where he pursued a degree in Agricultural Engineering and graduated with a bachelor’s in science in Civil Engineering in December 1977. Later, his children would follow him, Aaron graduating in 2002 and A.J. with her master's in 2011.
Upon graduating, David accepted a job with the Texas Department of Transportation and, in 1982, earned his PE certification. David served TxDOT for more than 22 years, including nine years as the Supervising Area Engineer in LaGrange, responsible for all design and construction activity in a two-county area, four years as Director of Administration for the Waco District, and six years as a District Engineer for the Lufkin District. After retiring from TxDOT, David started working on consulting projects with international companies working in Greece and the Philippines. When he returned to the States he started working at LAN, then Jacobs Engineering Group Inc, WSP, and finally retired for the last time from KCI Engineering. David will be remembered for his rigorous work ethic, professionalism, knowledge, and taking the time to mentor the next generation.
David loved his family. He always enjoyed talking about the latest updates involving his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed Texas A&M football games so much that he worked at the stadium for two seasons on the field. He always provided the highest level of security and was always willing to jump in as the 12th man if needed. His grandsons loved watching the games to see if they could spot him by the goal post on tv. He also loved attending basketball and softball games. We enjoyed traveling to Austin to see Braylon, A.J, and Mark; Chicago to see Aaron, Sarah, Lucas, Ben, and Sam. Stillwater, Oklahoma, became a second home while Hannah was attending Oklahoma State and Abilene to visit Mason when he relocated there for work in 2025. One of the greatest memories we all shared was in December 2023, when we traveled to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for a Disney cruise on the Dream. The trip was amazing, and a once-in-a-lifetime event. David was diagnosed with cancer on January 2, 2024.
His personality was steady, humorous, generous, stubborn at times, giving with his time and mentoring abilities, all while remaining patient during trying times. Hobbies included fishing, woodworking, coaching sports for Aaron and A.J., playing Spades, Broadway musicals, golf, and traveling with the church (Israel-2022 and Footsteps of Paul-2025). Community involvement - HTeaO Sugar Land, HTeaO at Constellation Field in Sugar Land and Parkway Fellowship Church - Westpark Campus
David is preceded in death by his step-brother, Jimmie Justice Jr., his mother, Dorothy (Dawson) Justice (2023), and his father, Jimmie T. Justice (2024).
David is survived by his wife, all his children, grandsons, several cousins, great cousins from his mom’s family, nieces, nephews and the family dogs Ellie and Tony.
