Christian "Chris" Hogue '18 March 4, 2026 12:17 PM updated: March 4, 2026 12:25 PM

Christian Elliot "Chris" Hogue

October 12, 1995 - February 24, 2026

Christian Elliot Hogue was born to Carmen Gutierrez and Sonny Hogue on October 12,
1995 in Amarillo, Texas. At age six months old he came to live with his paternal
grandparents, Bundy and Susie Hogue, and aunts Marianne and Bridgett Hogue. With the
great love they had for Christian, Carmen and Sonny gifted Chris a permanent home with
Susie and Bundy, in Ovilla, Texas. In kindergarten, the family moved to Midlothian, Texas
so that he could attend Longbranch Elementary School.

When he visited the Alamo at age eight, he asked for a “moment of privacy” and walked a
few steps ahead. He began to shudder, and the spirit of history was breathed into his
soul. His love for our country inspired Chris to start Flags by Chris, at age 11. This helped
him to pay for many scouting trips and college expenses.

He attended Midlothian ISD from kindergarten to 12th grade, graduating from Midlothian
High School in 2014. Throughout this time he was extremely active in his church youth
group and his boy scout troop, Troop 524. In the 6th grade, he joined the Walnut Grove
Band, where he played trombone. He would go on to be an amazingly hard working
member of the Panther Regiment Marching Band at Midlothian High School. In these
organizations he made life long friends.

In high school his friend group became very close. They would get together for game
nights whenever possible. Along the way he met Mallory. In October of 2013, He would
ask Mallory to go on their first date, and miss one of the best games in current Dallas
Cowboy franchise history, something he wouldn’t be allowed to forget.

Chris and Mallory would continue to date for the next seven years. Throughout that time
they both graduated high school and started studying at Texas A&M University and
Baylor University. They graduated with Bachelors degrees and Chris received his
Masters in Education. They had ring days, 21st birthdays, many A&M football games,
trips, and many many happy memories. On November 24, 2018, Chris proposed
underneath the Century Tree on the A&M campus. It was one of the best, happiest days.

In 2018 Chris started teaching at Ennis High School. He would become a beloved teacher and coworker and serve the students of EHS, the staff, and the Ennis Community for the next eight years. He loved his students, his school, and his coworkers.

On June 20, 2020, at 6:20 pm Chris married Mallory underneath a beautiful, huge, oak tree in Foreston, Texas, In the middle of a pandemic, on one of the prettiest days of the summer,
they started their life together. In July of 2022, they would buy their forever home in their
hometown of Midlothian, Texas so that their soon to be son would be able to grow up and
go to Chris’s Elementary School, Longbranch Elementary. On November 26, 2022, Chris and Mallory welcomed their beautiful little boy, Warren Henry Hogue, named for Chris’s
grandfather Henry Lohrman, into the world. Warren brought so much love to the Hogue
family, he is like a miniature Chris made over. In June of 2026, Chris will become a father for
the 2nd time to a little girl to be named Everly Helen Hogue, after Mallory’s grandmother,
Helen Drake.

Chris is preceded in death by his grandparents Henry and Ruth Lohrman, Hugh and Wanda
Hogue, and Joe and Carol Gutierrez, and his childhood best friend Jack Bryant. He is
survived by his wife Mallory, Son Warren, Daughter Everly, his parents Bundy and Susan
Hogue, brother Sonny Hogue, sisters Marianne Whitley and Bridget Aguirre, as well as
Carmen, Martin, Anais, and Jack. Brothers and Sister-in-laws, Kyle Whitley, Matthew Aguire,
Gina Hogue, Colt and Mattison Lukaku. Nieces Kaya, Emily, Reagan, Julian, and Sarah. Father and Mother-in-law, Matthew and Mary Drake. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and students.
