Rebecca Marie (Kasmiersky) Quinn

April 19, 1954 - February 20, 2026

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Rebecca Marie (Kasmiersky) Quinn, who died on February 20, 2026, following a courageous 22-month battle with cancer. Throughout her illness, Becky faced each day with strength, grace, and an unwavering love for those around her.

Becky was born on April 19, 1954, in Fayetteville, Texas, to the late Robert and Mary Kulhanek Kasmiersky. She grew up on her family’s farm alongside her older sister Barbara, and later her younger brother Bobby, in a childhood shaped by hard work and shared responsibility. Life on the farm—growing cotton, corn, raising cattle, helping with the harvest, caring for animals, and working together in the kitchen—instilled in Becky a lifelong devotion to service, humility, and love for others.

She attended Fayetteville schools, where even at a young age her energy and competitiveness were evident. Becky embraced life fully, participating in 4-H, FFA, FHA, basketball, cheerleading, and band. After graduating from high school, she attended Texas A&M University, earning a degree in Medical Technology.

Becky met the love of her life, Mark E. Quinn, after being introduced at a livestock show in La Grange. Their four-year courtship—some of it long-distance while Mark pursued his own education—was a testament to their commitment and partnership. They were wed in 1976, beginning a marriage grounded in faith. Mark’s career led them to the Dallas area, where they built a full and joyful life together for more than 49 years.

Becky worked for many years as a medical technologist before transitioning into teaching, a role that reflected her natural gift for patience and care. While a supportive wife to an agriculture entrepreneur, the role she treasured most was that of mother and grandmother. Her grandkids brought her immeasurable joy.

In 2000, Mark and Becky moved to the McKinney/Melissa area, where they became deeply involved in the community they loved. Becky was an active and faithful member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, living out her faith through service and quiet leadership.

Blessed with a true servant’s heart, Becky found her greatest happiness in caring for others. She loved time spent in the kitchen, hosting gatherings, and making everyone feel welcome and at home. Mark and Becky’s Christmas and New Year’s celebrations were cherished traditions. Her Catholic faith guided her involvement in numerous service organizations, including the St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Gabriel the Archangel Women’s Club, and Altar Society, among others. Most recently, she enjoyed her time with the residents at Pioneer Ridge as a Eucharistic Minister.

An avid game player, Becky treasured the friendships formed around card tables and shared laughter. She and Mark also shared a love of travel, visiting six continents and delighting in the beauty of different cultures and experiences around the world.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Kasmiersky; her brother-in-law Gaston Haupert; her niece Monique Haupert Derrington; her father- and mother-in-law John and Janis Quinn; and her nephews Kyle Tiemann and Cameron Quinn.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Mark Quinn; her children Stephanie (Jeff) Hilliard, Matthew (Katie) Quinn, and Caleb (Hallye) Quinn; and her beloved grandchildren Drew, Quinn, Tucker, Grant, Peyton, Holden, Kyler, and Tatum. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Haupert; her brother Robert Kasmiersky; her brothers- and sisters-in-law Jeff (Elaine) Quinn, Pam (David) Tiemann, Jim (Cynde) Quinn, and Jon (Beverly) Quinn; along with numerous nieces and nephews who will carry her memory forward.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 27 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, McKinney, Texas, following a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. A reception in the church community hall will immediately follow. Interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013 at approximately 2:30 p.m.
