Rodney H. East 

August 15, 1930 - February 3, 2026 

Rodney H. East, age 95, died peacefully at his home in San Antonio, Texas on February 3, 2026. Wed to the love of his life, Peggy Cloud East in 1957, they enjoyed sixty-four years together and were very close to family and friends alike, time cherished by all. 

A 1948 class graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Rod went on to graduate from Texas A&M University, Class of 1952, receiving a Bachelor of Agricultural Science. Shortly thereafter, he was commissioned to serve in the Korean War as an officer. After military service, he went on to build a successful career in the automotive business, owning his own dealership and serving in both local and state leadership roles. Rod enjoyed forty-two years as a Volkswagen dealer, winning numerous awards and recognition for service. 

As a sixty-one year member of Coker United Methodist Church, Rod participated in The Walk to Emmaus community. He and Peggy were active members, attending and supporting their church community throughout both of their lifetimes. 

Rod is survived by many nephews and nieces, great-nephews and -nieces, and great-great-nephews and -nieces, and cousins. 

Graveside services were held February 8, 2026 with close family and friends.
