Danny Lynn Ingram
November 19, 1953 - January 22, 2026
Danny Lynn Ingram, 72, passed into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on January 22, 2026. He will always be remembered as a man of courage, integrity and strong Christian faith.
Danny was born in Arkansas and grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. After earning a bachelor's degree in engineering at General Motors Institute in Michigan and a master's degree in industrial engineering and computer science from Texas A&M University, he worked as an industrial professional engineer. First for General Motors, then for Carolina Power and Light, Progress and Duke Energy in several positions, most lately as head of IT Security. He was respected as a fair and inspiring manager by his colleagues. He had a lifelong interest in financial investing and after retirement was certified as a FINRA arbitrator. Danny was a skilled restorer of antique furniture, an avid fan of the Carolina Hurricanes and he loved outdoors and fishing. While his sons were growing up, he was a dedicated Scoutmaster and faithful mentor to many young men. He and Waynette enjoyed traveling, meeting interesting people and learning about the many beautiful places they toured in the US and Europe. His love for Jesus, his Lord and Savior, was evidenced by his devoted participation in worship at Holy Trinity Anglican Church and the Men's Bible study group.
Danny is survived by his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 53 years, Gail Waynette, and their sons David with his wife, Laurali, and Kyle and his wife, Heidi. He was a fun and loving PopPop to Caleb, Joshua and Finley and will be missed for his stories and playful, generous nature. Danny also leaves his brother Michael (Theresa) Ingram and sister Lonneta (Jason) Redman, extended family and true friends.
A funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 100 East Peace Street, Raleigh, NC, Friday, 2 PM January 30, 2026.
Arrangements by Bryan-Lee Funeral Home of Raleigh.
