Sabrina Dae McCarty 

May 26, 1967 - February 3, 2026 

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Sabrina Dae McCarty. She passed away of natural causes at her home in Austin, Texas, during the early morning of February 3, 2026.

Sabrina grew up in Houston, Texas, obtained a Bachelors degree at Texas A&M University, and a Master’s in Counseling from Texas State University. After working for the City of Austin Health Department for 29 years, she retired and was looking forward to a new career in counseling. She was the beloved wife of Gabe McCarty and dedicated mother of Bethanie McCarty.

She is survived by Gabe and Bethanie McCarty, nieces Shelby Combs, Page, and Noel Soneson, nephew Erik Soneson, her sisters Sonja Ballard and April Bowman, brothers Dale and Joe Ballard and cousins Richard and Michael Berthelot.

Sabrina was steadfast and fervent in her belief in her daughter, unwavering in her support and an overflowing well of unconditional love. A lover of nature and the gentlest of souls, she leaves behind a legacy of warmth and will be dearly missed. She will be cremated as per her wishes. A memorial will be held in her honor on February 28th at 2:00 PM at the University Catholic Center, located at 2011 Whitis Ave., Austin, TX 78705.
