Terry Lynn Leifeste

July 1, 1969 - January 17, 2026

Terry Lynn Leifeste, 56, of Friendswood, Texas, passed away January 17, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Terry was born to parents Chris and Teresa Leifeste on July 1, 1969, in Stephenville, Texas. He graduated from Brady High School in 1987 as the salutatorian of his class, which granted him a 4-year scholarship to Texas A&M. This helped him pursue an education in aerospace engineering after high school. Terry earned his bachelor's degree from Texas A&M in 1994 and later became an aerospace engineer, a true rocket scientist.

Terry loved the title rocket scientist. One of his favorite lines to use was, "It isn't rocket science." Terry's true passion was in computers and technology, which is where his mind thrived and brought him great joy. Terry loved film, music, and reading. He enjoyed discussion and debate, his intentions always sincere in the pursuit of knowledge and understanding. Terry was a radio personality, better known as PhilKtid, on the Technology Bytes segment on KPFT 90.1FM in Houston. He was a loyal DEFCON goon for 9 years, participating in HOUSE.CCON and later creating CCON! with his friends. Terry liked to build community in everything he did.

In 2011, Terry started dating his friend Heather, who soon became the love of his life. Terry and Heather married in August of 2014 in their large backyard, opening up their home to share their special moment with their family and friends. He loved Heather's children as his own and was cherished by her family. Terry was an honest, kind, and caring person, never thinking twice about helping someone in need. He was bigger than life and lit up this world with his bright shining light. He was Heather's sunshine and will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

Terry is preceded in death by his grandparents, Marvin and Esther Leifeste, and Garland and Lillie Ator. Terry is survived by his loving wife, Heather Leifeste; his children, Christopher Wedemeyer, Megan Wedemeyer, Alex Peace, Haydin Peace, Samantha Peace, Alyssa Peace, and Makayla Peace; his parents, Chris and Teresa Leifeste; his brother, Linc Leifeste and wife Heather; his niece, Lillie; his nephews, Miles and Caleb; and many more family and friends. Terry's life and legacy will be carried on by those who knew him. We love you, Terry.
