Christopher Lynn "Chris" Jackson 

March 22, 1968 - January 2, 2026 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher (Chris) Lynn Jackson, of Waller Tx. Chris passed peacefully in his home on the evening of January 2, 2026 after courageously battling colon cancer for the past two and a half years. Throughout his cancer diagnosis and treatment, his unwavering faith in God carried him forward, anchored by the assurance that God had a divine plan for his life on earth.

Chris was born on March 22, 1968 to Larry and Ginger Jackson of Amarillo. Growing up in Amarillo, TX attending South Georgia Elementary School, Fannin Junior High School, and Amarillo High School graduating in 1986 where he was a football standout, receiving the John Spencer Outstanding Lineman Award. Following his passion for football Chris went on to play at the college level while attending West Texas State.

In the spring of 1988 Chris made plans to serve our nation and joined the United States Army. He completed his basic training at Harmony Church, and Airborne School at Fort Benning GA. He went on to serve his committed four year tour at Fort Richardson, AK as an airborne infantryman serving with the 1/501 Airborne Infantry Battalion. While serving in the Army Chris received the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal along with the National Defense Service Medal. He left the Army as a Sergeant (E-5).

Texas was calling him home and in 1992, he returned to attend Texas A&M University in College Station TX, where he furthered his education. This is where he also met the love of his life, Traci.

Football was in his blood and his first coaching job came in 2000, while working for Houston Christian High School, he also served as the Dean of Students during his two year employment.

In 2003 Chris joined Stallion Infrastructure Services as an Asset Manager, overseeing equipment refurbishment and playing an integral role in the company’s early acquisitions. Chris, known as “Ranger” to his colleagues never shied away from doing what was necessary to accomplish the end goal, grow the company and be successful in each endeavor. Chris served many roles within Stallion, from asset management to Division Manger for Midcon in Decatur before recently returning back to Houston to assist with inventory management. His knowledge, his steadfast determination and commitment to success touched many of his colleagues over the years.

He was an avid college football fan, with Saturdays in the fall, proudly reserved for watching the games, cheering loudly, and arguing calls with the TV as if the referees could hear him. Chris loved the outdoors and found great joy in hunting, appreciating the time it allowed him to spend in nature. Above all else, he cherished spending time with his family and friends, valuing those moments more than anything. Chris had a generous heart and was always willing to help others, never hesitating to step in when someone needed a hand. Whether it was offering support, lending his skills, or simply being there, he showed his care through his actions and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Chris was the epitome of fun and the life of every party. His boisterous laugh and giant smiles along with funny faces brought joy to all.

Chris is survived by his parents, Larry and Ginger Jackson, wife Traci and children Cody and Ashley. Brother Greg (Jennifer, Connor, Kyler) Brother Joe Brett (Tracy, Logan, Jordan, Joey, Blair and Ryan). As well as many friends and extended family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday January 10, 2026 at 10:30 am at First Baptist Church, 600 Pin Oak Rd Katy, TX. 

The family asks that you find comfort in knowing that Chris’ legacy lives on through the lessons taught, the love shared and the memories we will cherish forever.
